Dr. Alan L. Smith, C.I. is a Licensed, Certified Hypnosis Instructor / Psychotherapist. In Private Practice since 1984. He is a certified & registered member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, American Board of Hypnotherapy, New York Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and member of the American Academy of Pain Management, With a Ph.D. in Psychology, Dr. Smith has studied with, and participated in, classes, seminars, and workshops taught by: psychiatrist Robert Shaw, M.D. (the creator of Contextual Psychotherapy), Contextual Psychotherapy psychologists Robert Flax, Ph.D., Warren Berland, Ph.D. and Arthur Egendorf, Ph.D. (author of Healing From the War). Dr. Smith is a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic ProgrammingTM (NLP). He earned this certification from The Society of NLP: John LaValle, M.B.A., Kathleen LaValle, B.S., and Douglas O’Brien. It was also with Mr. O’Brien that Alan completed his advanced training in “Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.” Dr. Smith is also Certified in the following areas: as a Practitioner of “Eye Movement Integration”TM (EMI) by Ron Klein, CAAC, NBCCH of the American Hypnosis Training Academy; courses offered by Don Mottin, the Vice-President of the National Guild of Hypnotists (N.G.H.) as Certified Hypnosis Instructor; in Regression Hypnosis, Sports Hypnosis, Pediatric Hypnosis, Cancer Patients and Their Caregivers, and more.
